Coffee Stained Boxcars
There's a red light lantern shining lit,
there's tracks to follow behind
Matters not one little bit,
the world I am bound to find
Chewing on a grassy blade,
bending to the breeze
Another town to escape,
in my life of being free
Looking for that gravy train,
looking everywhere
All I see is coffee stains,
in the boxcar that I share
There's a woman back in another town,
think I loved her yes I did
Something to dream about at sundown,
towns passed in a blink
Sipping grapes from a paper bag,
savoring the bitterness
On the cigarette I take a drag,
trying to forget
Looking for that gravy train,
looking everywhere
All I see is coffee stains,
in the boxcar that I share.
